As the California drought continues, LARC ranch is planning to bring water from the Castaic Lake Water Agency’s Santa Clarita Water Division to developmentally disabled residents for a reliable long term alternative to dried up wells.

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors  unanimously approved a motion to proclaim a local emergency for areas of Quartz Hill, leona Valley, Lake Hughes, and Lake Elizabeth after flooding and mudslides occurred Thursday.

The woman killed in a solo vehicle crash Friday afternoon has been identified.

With the rising number in traffic related fatalities, the California Highway Patrol in Newhall is offering a “Start Smart” program which is designed to help teen drivers keep themselves safe on the road.
