Around Town | Event for LAPD Officer, Single Mom Diagnosed with Cancer Raises Over $17,000
|
Miriam Alvarado’s day has always started with a workout. As an LAPD officer with the Metropolitan Division, a single mom and an avid member of the CrossFit community Alvarado has always been in great shape. But all of that came to a head about five months ago when a pain in her back and extreme fatigue caused her to be hospitalized and eventually diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. Alvarado’s CrossFit and law enforcement family came together over the weekend for an event put on by CrossFit SCV. Pulling for Miriam was created by Curtis Marzinzik, owner of CrossFit SCV, and raised over $17,000 for her family. If you would like to donate click [here]. (c) 2016 SCVTV
