Around Town | Kaiser Permanente Holds Grand Opening for New Medical Office
|
Kaiser Permanente held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday to celebrate the grand opening of Santa Clarita Medical Offices 2, the healthcare provider’s new specialty services facility that will provide urgent care and surgical teams to members of the community. The new office offers a lab, pharmacy and urgent care along with specialty services like cardiology, pain management and more. Santa Clarita Medical Offices 2 is located at 26877 Tourney Road, Valencia 91355. In partnership with the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce, community VIPs, local business leaders and elected officials were welcomed by Kaiser Permanente at the “next-generation” specialty care facility. With a welcoming aesthetic that doesn’t look or feel like your typical clinical setting, the 64,000-square-foot medical office represents Kaiser Permanente’s evolution toward creating highly efficient, environmentally friendly facilities designed to improve the member experience. “We’re putting the patient at the center of everything we do and every decision we make,” said Payman Roshan, senior vice president and area manager, Kaiser Permanente Panorama City Medical Center Area. Santa Clarita Medical Offices 2 was designed to enable greater connectivity with physicians using advanced technology, including the option for remote check-in via the Kaiser Permanente app, and text message alerts to notify patients when their provider is ready so they’re not glued to a waiting room chair. Video consultations will also be available on-demand, saving patients valuable time. “Technology allows us to magnify our integrated model of care,” said James Lau, MD, area medical director. “All of our patents’ needs are delivered by one team of health professionals, often under one roof.” “Kaiser Permanente’s expansion in Santa Clarita helps to build a strong, robust community infrastructure and advocacy for good health and health services,” said John Musella, former Chairman of the Board of the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce. “It’s this kind of community investment that ensures the City of Santa Clarita to be a leader in supporting a healthy community and a healthy economy,” said Troy Hooper, the Chamber’s 2018 chairman. Kaiser Permanente also has a mission to improve the health of our members and the communities we serve. To celebrate the successes of local nonprofit organizations that work to make the Santa Clarita Valley healthier, Kaiser Permanente awarded Northeast Valley Health Corporation $300,000 of community benefit grant funding during the ceremony to support the opening of their new health care center in Newhall. Community Benefit grant applications for 2018 are currently being accepted through March 15 at 2 p.m., through Kaiser Permanente’s online grant application process.
