SCVTV's Community Corner | Learn How a Meaningful Walk Can Make a Difference at American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life
|
In this moving segment of SCVTV’s Community Corner, Abby Smith, Senior Development Manager, and Aimee Whaley, Co-Event Chair for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life 40th Anniversary, share how you can make a difference with a simple, meaningful walk. Relay for Life is a volunteer-driven, impactful event that brings the community together to celebrate cancer survivors and honor those who have lost loved ones to the disease. This year’s theme, “Decades of Hope,” commemorates the 40 years of impact Relay for Life has had on the cancer community. The family-friendly, all-day event will take place on Saturday, May 3, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Central Park. Proceeds from the walk will benefit the American Cancer Society’s many programs and resources in the fight to cure cancer. The event is free, but registration is required for those who wish to participate. For more information, or if you’d like to register for the event, head on over to the SCV Relay for Life website.
