In this segment of SCVTV’s Community Corner, Amber T. Rodriguez, Chair for the Santa Clarita Valley Salvation Army Board, gives us a sweet preview of the annual, family-friendly “Donut Day.”

The Salvation Army’s tradition pays tribute to “Donut Lassies,” who offered frontline soldiers during World War I some comforts of home, which included sweet treats, like donuts.

Celebrations will take place Saturday, June 7, at the Canyon Country Community Center, located at 18410 Sierra Highway. Festivities will begin at 10 a.m.

Come stop by the fun and enjoy the music, food trucks and, of course, the star of the day – donuts!

The event will be capped off by the highly-anticipated donut eating contest, a fierce but friendly competition among government agencies, law enforcement officials and members of the community.
