In this segment of SCVTV’s Community Corner, Jerrid Mckenna, Director of Neighborhood Services for the city of Santa Clarita, shares some exciting news as Los Angeles County is preparing to hand over stewardship of William S. Hart Park to the City.

Following a recent probate hearing which approved the transfer of ownership, the City is targeting July 1, 2025 to begin the day-to-day operations of Hart Park.

Los Angeles County has overseen the day-to-day operations of the Hart Park for more than 75 years. This transition will mark a significant milestone as the Santa Clarita treasure is the last remaining L.A. County park.

Jerrid also highlights all the fun and exciting plans the City has once the acquisition is complete, including reopening the Hart Museum, expanding on City programming and maintaining the Barnyard, which is home to dozens of adorable animals like pigs, alpacas, chickens, ducks, and so much more!
