More from This Week’s Guest Lineup The hosts then chat with Jennifer Barnekow and Ellie Kalman from the Santa Clarita Public Library, who give us a sneak preview of this year’s summer reading program. The hugely popular seven-week program encourages kids and adults to “Level Up at the Library” by reading a variety of books, participating in crafts and activities, and taking on the reading challenge for a chance to win prizes. Next, we sit down with Josh Wentz and Stephan Nieman from Mission Opera, who highlight the fun and highly entertaining “Bella Notte Italian Night.” Held every third Saturday of the month, this event—presented in partnership with Bella Cucina Italian Restaurant—combines world-class opera singers and culinary arts for a memorable and meaningful evening. Following that, we chat with Sean Tuber from the City of Santa Clarita, who previews the exciting outdoor recreational activities you and your family can enjoy locally. From community hikes and the award-winning Youth Outdoor Adventures program to mountain bike demos and Sunset Sessions, summer in Santa Clarita has never been more thrilling! Plus, The Painted Turtle joins us for the first time to discuss its impactful year-round programming, which offers a safe, fun, and comprehensive camping experience to kids with serious medical needs—all for free! Located in Lake Hughes, The Painted Turtle is a hidden gem that has served more than 220,000 campers and their families worldwide. Finally, Jill Dyche, founder of Outta the Cage, returns with vital information on how to keep our fur babies safe during the hot summer months. She also brought back Milo, a handsome, lovable, and playful pup still looking for his forever family. Learn more about SCVTV’s Community Corner. Want to see more from SCVTV’s Community Corner?
