Opening Segment: Hear All About Exciting, Meaningful Community Events

SCVTV’s Community Corner co-hosts Dave Caldwell and Carrie Lujan kick things off in the Opening Segment with exciting community events, including State of the City, the impactful Titania K9 Fund’s “WANTED” gala, and the meaningful Damian’s Not-So-Haunted House.

State of the City

The annual State of the City highlights Santa Clarita’s accomplishment over the course of the year. The event will be held Thursday, Oct. 16, at 3 p.m., at the Canyon Country Community Center and will pay tribute to the beloved William S. Hart Park, which officially became the City’s 40th park.

Titania K9 Fund’s “WANTED” Gala

We then hear about the Titania K9 Fund’s meaningful “WANTED” Gala, which recognized the healing powers of therapy dogs and the tireless work of their dedicated handlers. The event, which was held at the Sand Canyon Country Club, benefited the Children’s Hospital Therapy Dog Program and featured eight of the most adorable and lovable canine caregivers. Damian’s Not-So-Haunted House

If you and your lil ghouls and goblins prefer a more family-friendly Halloween activity, head on over to Damian’s Not-So-Haunted House and Bake Sale and give back to a very worthwhile cause. The haunted house is part of the “Please Save Damian Campaign,” raising funds for the Wylder Nation Foundation to slow the progress of ASMD Type A, which Damian was diagnosed with. ASMD Type A is often referred to as “Baby Alzheimers.” Attendees will get to experience a host of fun and newly-added features including a train ride, new but familiar characters and a photo opportunity. The schedule for Damian’s Not-So-Haunted-House are as follows:

Open 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Oct. 17-18, Oct. 23-25 and Oct. 29-Nov. 1. For more information, or if you’d like to learn more about Damian’s journey, visit https://www.savedamian.com/home.
