As temperatures begin to rise, families will be hitting the pool, lakes and beaches. But before they do, we teamed up with Pete McJunkin, lifeguard for the City of Santa Clarita, to discuss important water safety tips everyone should keep in mind this summer season.

From the correct flotation devices and the importance of swim lessons to safety barriers around the pool, McDunkin takes us on a deep dive of essential safety measures to help prevent accidents before they happen.

Plus, we learn the proper techniques for performing CPR on both adults and infants.
