A Newhall man accused of torturing and killing his infant daughter is due back in court next month after pleading not guilty at a preliminary hearing Friday.

LA County has put plans for an emergency-communication tower on hold after scores of Saugus residents sounded off about the possible 70-foot structure.

SCV residents will have the chance to weigh in on the north entrance to the eventual 20,000 home Newhall Ranch development in March.
