In this Special Edition Caltrans 200th News Flash, Public Information Officer Alisa Becerra attends the 2019 Governor’s State Employee Medal of Valor ceremony, where five Caltrans employees were honored for their selfless heroic acts.

For the first time, one employee was awarded two medals for two separate acts of valor. Some in snow, others through fire, Caltrans employees Carmichael Broderick, Benjamin Anderson, Thomas Britt, Lonnie Swartout, and Michael Quinliven all went above and beyond the call of duty to save the lives of others.
