SCVTV’s Community Corner: Season 6, Episode 4

In this episode of SCVTV’s Community Corner, we give you previews of impactful events from the Eco Film Festival to Circle of Hope’s Vine 2 Wine, plus we take a sneak peek at the fun and nostalgic lineup for the upcoming SENSES Block Party, explore the invaluable resources available at the Many Families, One Community Family Resource Fair and meet the sweetest, and expecting, pooch from Sunny Day Acres, who is sure to capture your heart. Finally, don’t miss how to register for exciting new classes in the Spring Seasons catalog on a new episode of “This Week in Santa Clarita.”

More from This Week’s Guest Lineup
Starting off this week’s episode, co-hosts Carrie Lujan and Dave Caldwell chat about this week’s guests. In honor of International Women’s Day, they also give special shoutouts to the women in their lives who have made positive and lasting impacts.

We then chat with Cher Gilmore, facilitator for the SCV Eco Alliance, who’ll give us a sneak peek at this year’s Eco Film Festival being held at College of the Canyons. The informative festival will feature six short films and documentaries that bring awareness to climate change and environmental issues.

Then, we sit down with Joel Beck from the city of Santa Clarita as he previews the fun and entertaining themes for the community favorite, SENSES Block Party. Whether you’re a sports fan or just looking forward to a much-needed night out, SENSES has something in store for everyone!

Then, Dr. Catherine Kawaguchi, Superintendent for the Sulphur Springs Union School District, chats with us about the ninth annual, “Many Families, One Community Family Resource Fair.” This meaningful event connects families with valuable resources to help navigate their child’s educational journey.

Following Dr. K, we chat with Dawn Abasta and Alison Lindemann from Circle of Hope as they preview the organization’s signature wine-tasting event, Vine 2 Wine. This fabulous evening will feature epicurean delights, silent and live auctions, and live music all for a worthy cause.

Plus, Jen Gray from Sunny Day Acres introduces you to an adorable, pregnant pooch – a first for Community Corner – who’s ready for her forever family! Jen also dives into the disturbing trend of dog dumping and how it’s affecting her rescue center.

Finally, the always popular Season’s Magazine Spring Session has been released. So, if you’re ready to try something new or want your child to take part in something different, find out how you can register on an all new episode of “This Week in Santa Clarita.”
