Finding Art Santa Clarita | Newhall School District’s ‘Celebration of the Arts’ Showcases Thousands of Pieces of Student Artwork

Thousands of pieces of artwork from Newhall School District students lined the halls of Newhall Elementary School for the district’s annual “Celebration of the Arts” on Thursday, June 2, with hundreds of parents, students, faculty, and staff joining in the festivities of the evening. The “Celebration of the Arts” brings together artwork from each student across the district’s 10 schools, as well as performances from the district’s chorus and theater students, transforming Newhall Elementary School into a visual and performance gallery for the evening. Newhall School District’s Certified Credentialed Art Teachers Kim Ferguson and Tracy Jacobs work with NSD’s third through sixth grade students to provide them a comprehensive Visual Arts education, covering everything from historical and contemporary artists to using the different artistic mediums; additionally, NSD teachers work to integrate the arts into their core subject lessons.
