The city of Santa Clarita celebrated Japan on Aug. 9 for its 2024 Celebrate event series featuring local artists and performers.
Included in the performance lineup were TAIKOPROJECT, who showcased the powerful beat and rhythm of Taiko; Kozue Matsumoto, who shared the soothing sounds of Japan’s national instrument, the koto; and USA Sumo, who demonstrated Japan’s national sport, sumo.
If you missed out on experiencing Japanese traditions, the final stop in the event series will be Germany! Discover the German sights, sounds and cuisine on Sept. 13 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Canyon Country Community Center.
